Project M.E.S.S.

Mentorship • Employment • Stability • Support Services

This comprehensive data-driven reentry initiative, led by the non-profit organization, aims to reduce recidivism among women and youth girls in Duval County. By directly recruiting from local and state correctional institutions, the program effectively reaches women in transition at a critical point in their lives and provides the necessary support to help them rebuild their lives with confidence and purpose.

**Mentorship Programs**: Personalized guidance and connection with trained peer support specialists, who have experienced similar journeys, offer pre- and post-release mentoring and guidance that fosters personal growth and resilience.

**Employment**: Job readiness training, career coaching, and resume support lead to sustainable work opportunities, empowering women to transform their lives.

**Stability**: This initiative focuses on building essential life skills, connecting participants to housing resources, and establishing a sustainable daily routine, which is crucial for women in transition.

**Support Services**: Holistic support centered on emotional wellness, community connections, and everyday needs is aimed at supporting women and girls, ultimately promoting women empowerment.

As a non-profit organization with an MOU with My Village Project and recognized by the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice as a volunteer organization, we are dedicated to supporting youth development and leadership. Our community initiatives also help high school seniors fulfill scholarship-required community service hours, promoting personal growth, resilience, and community engagement. "Rebuilding Me" Curriculum - Reentry Journal

Mental, Emotional State of Self:

The Taming My M.E.S.S. Reentry Journal is a guided tool designed to support incarcerated and returning women through self-reflection, healing, and personal development. Integrated with the Rebuilding Me Curriculum, the journal encourages participants to explore identity, accountability, emotional wellness, and goal setting as they prepare for successful reentry. Through structured prompts and group discussions, women are empowered to rebuild their lives, strengthen decision-making, and develop a healthier mindset for life beyond incarceration. Currently, this program is facilitated in the local jail. The journal is also available for purchase on Barnes & Noble, allowing women and supporters to access it beyond the program.
