Taming My M.E.S.S. Foundation, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is dedicated to supporting justice-impacted women and youth girls through various community initiatives. We provide crucial assistance before release, during early reentry, and beyond, focusing on emotional healing, identity restoration, and consistent mentorship programs when it matters most. Too often, women in transition leave incarceration with a plan but lack the emotional support, confidence, or guidance needed to succeed. Led by Kenyatta Mccloud, we step in early and remain present, helping women rebuild their lives with dignity, accountability, and a sense of purpose. Our commitment to women empowerment and personal growth fills the gaps others miss in reentry, fostering resilience and transforming lives.

Taming My M.E.S.S. Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to addressing the gaps often overlooked in reentry. We focus on supporting justice-impacted women and youth girls through community initiatives that provide early, consistent, and relationship-based support. Our mentorship programs empower participants through workshops, journaling, and life skills programming aimed at fostering personal growth, emotional healing, identity restoration, and resilience. Our mission is to ensure that every woman and girl leaving incarceration is not only prepared to navigate the challenges of reentry but also supported to reclaim her voice, build confidence, and transform lives as leaders and mentors within their communities. We are committed to women empowerment and helping women in transition thrive.

We envision a future where women and youth girls impacted by the justice system have access to community initiatives, mentorship programs, and the support they need to heal, thrive, and achieve lasting independence. No woman or girl will return to her community without the confidence, preparation, and a strong support network—healing will begin before release, not after crisis. Through our non-profit organization, we aim to support women in transition, fostering resilience and personal growth to transform lives and promote women empowerment.

Our Approach

Taming My M.E.S.S. Foundation, a non-profit organization founded by Kenyatta Mccloud, utilizes a trauma-informed, relationship-based approach that focuses on the whole woman or youth girl—not just compliance. Our community initiatives include Pre- & Post-Release Support, where we engage women and youth girls inside correctional facilities

Taming My M.E.S.S. Foundation, a non-profit organization founded by Kenyatta Mccloud, utilizes a trauma-informed, relationship-based approach that focuses on the whole woman or youth girl—not just compliance. Our community initiatives include Pre- & Post-Release Support, where we engage women and youth girls inside correctional facilities and continue to support them after release through mentorship programs such as reentry support groups, individual callouts, and one-on-one mentorship. We also conduct workshops centered on life skills, emotional regulation, and preparation for reentry.

Emotional & Identity Restoration is a critical aspect of our mission. We address the emotional barriers—trauma, self-worth, accountability, and confidence—that often determine reentry success. Journaling serves as a bridge in this process; the Taming My M.E.S.S. Journal acts as a therapeutic tool that aids women and youth girls in processing experiences, building self-awareness, and preparing for life beyond incarceration.

Through our relationship-based continuity, support doesn’t end at release. We walk alongside women and youth girls through early freedom, stability, personal growth, resilience, and leadership development, ultimately empowering them to transform lives and support other women in transition.
